At I-57 Roofing of Illinois, we believe in building more than just roofs—we’re committed to building stronger communities across Central Illinois. One of the ways we do that is by rolling up our sleeves and giving back to the people who make our region so special. Most recently, our team had the opportunity to volunteer at the Eastern Illinois Foodbank—a meaningful experience that reinforced why local service matters on and off the roof.

Supporting Food Security in East Central Illinois

The Eastern Illinois Foodbank (EIF) serves as a critical resource for families facing food insecurity across 18 counties in East Central Illinois, including Champaign, Douglas, Coles, and Vermilion counties. Based in Urbana, Illinois, EIF distributes millions of pounds of food each year to food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and programs that support children and seniors.

A Day of Service with I-57 Roofing: Packing Hope, One Box at a Time 📦💛

Our team volunteered to pack food boxes for local families in need—something that goes far beyond just filling shelves. Each box served as a reminder that giving back in our local communities, like Arcola, Tuscola, and Champaign, Illinois is just as important as the roofing services we provide.

As a locally owned and operated roofing company in Arcola, IL, we’re proud to serve homeowners and businesses throughout Central Illinois—and even prouder to support the people behind those homes. Volunteering with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank aligns with our values of servant leadership, community service, and being a trusted neighbor wherever we work.

Why Volunteering Matters to Us

We work hard on the jobsite, but we also work hard to be the kind of company that shows up when it matters most. Partnering with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank allowed us to connect as a team while making a real impact in the fight against hunger.

It was also a powerful reminder that:

  • 1 in 7 adults and 1 in 5 children in Eastern Illinois struggle with hunger

  • EIF distributes more than 10 million pounds of food annually

  • Every volunteer hour helps bring food and dignity to someone’s table

Want to Get Involved?

Volunteering with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank is simple, meaningful, and open to individuals, families, and teams like ours.

We left the foodbank feeling inspired, energized, and more connected—not just to each other, but to the mission of fighting hunger across Illinois. We’re grateful to organizations like Eastern Illinois Foodbank for creating ways for businesses and individuals to serve.

If you're looking for ways to make a difference in your community, we can’t recommend this enough. The work is meaningful, the need is great, and the reward is immeasurable.

Because when we come together as a community, everyone eats.
